Welcome to the Countdown Conundrum game
The first programme on Channel 4, Countdown has been appealing to wordsmiths and number-crunchers since 1982.
It has remained a fixture of the afternoon schedule and consistently popular with viewers through the years, an enduring appeal always matched by that of its two founding presenters, Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman.
The Conundrum provides the finale of every show, with the contestants racing against each other and the clock, to rearrange the 9 letters of the Conundrum into the answer as quickly as possible.
So get playing, and see if you can get your name on the hi-score tables...
